Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am and 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. To install the digital radio receiver bracket, perform the following steps:
    1. Align the bracket to the I/P reinforcement (1).
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    3. Install the bracket bolts (4).

      Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    4. Install the I/P fuse block. Verify that the retainer is engaged. Refer to Instrument Panel Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
    5. Install the I/P outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Outer Trim Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Connect the antenna cable to the digital radio receiver.
  3. Connect the I/P wiring harness connector to the receiver. Install the CPA.
  4. Align the receiver to the bracket.
  5. Install the digital radio receiver nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  6. Install the right side outboard I/P insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Outboard) or Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Inboard) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  7. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  8. Perform the setup procedure for the digital radio receiver. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup .
