Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector at the electronic brake control module.
1 Fittings, Brake Pipe - Master Cylinder (Qty: 2)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  27 N.m (20 lb ft)


Tip: 
  • Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
  • Finger tighten the brake pipe fittings before tightening to the final torque specification.
2 Fitting, Brake Pipe

Tighten:  18 N.m (13 lb ft)


Tip: 
  • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
  • Finger tighten the brake pipe fittings before tightening to the final torque specification.
3 Fittings, Brake Pipe (Qty: 3)

Tighten:  18 N.m (13 lb ft)


Tip: 
  • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
  • Finger tighten the brake pipe fittings before tightening to the final torque specification.
4 Bolt, Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) to Bracket

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)

5 Valve, Brake Pressure Modulator (BPMV)
Tip:  DO NOT separate the BPMV from the electronic brake control module (EBCM) until out of the vehicle on a work bench.
6 Screws, EBCM to BPMV (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

7 Module, Electronic Brake Control (EBCM)
