July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Installation Procedure

  1. If you are replacing the assist step support inner brackets, perform the following steps.
    1. Align the assist step support inner bracket with the marks made with a grease pencil.
    2. Using new rivets, install the assist step support inner bracket to the vehicle.

  2. Position the assist step support bracket to the assist step support inner bracket.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the assist step support bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  4. If you are replacing one assist step support bracket, install the assist step nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the assist step nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. If you are replacing more than one assist step support bracket, install the assist step. Refer to Assist Step Replacement .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
