Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) knee bolster. Refer to KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT .
  2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT -- ON VEHICLE (CYLINDER ROTATES) or IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT -- ON VEHICLE (UNABLE TO ROTATE CYLINDER) .
  3. Remove the upper steering column shroud.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
  5. Pull the PASS-Key* III module from the ignition lock cylinder housing.

  6. Remove the electrical connector and wires from the steering column.
  7. Remove the PASS-Key* III module from the vehicle.
