Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

Rotate the pigtail 90 degrees from vertical before securing the fastener.

  1. Install the knock sensor.
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the knock sensor bolt and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the knock sensor electrical connector pigtail (6) clip to the oil level indicator tube bracket.
  6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the knock sensor pigtail electrical connector (6).
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LE5, LE9, LY7) .
