Circuit/System Testing
- Install a scan tool, turn ignition ON, with the engine OFF. Observe the status of DTC B3100. If the DTC is not current, test for intermittent conditions and poor connections.
- Turn OFF the ignition, disconnect the electrical connector from the RCDLR. Connect a DMM from the keyless entry serial data circuit to a good ground. Turn ON the ignition, observe the voltage. Specification: battery voltage.
- If battery voltage is not present, test the keyless entry serial data circuit for a short to ground. Correct the problem.
- If a problem was not found and corrected, inspect for a poor connection at the harness connector of the RCDLR. Correct the problem.
- If a problem was not found and corrected, replace the BCM. Clear codes, verify the repair.
- If battery voltage is present, inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the RCDLR. Correct the problem.
- If a problem was not found and corrected, replace the RCDLR. Clear codes, verify the repair.
