Front Seat Frame Assembly Replacement - Driver

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket .
  2. Remove the seat riser outboard finish cover. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat (Power)  or Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat (Manual) .
  3. Remove the seat recliner inboard finish covers. Refer to Seat Back Recliner Inner Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat .
  4. Remove the seat recliner outboard finish covers. Refer to Seat Back Recliner Outer Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat .
  5. Remove the front seat back panel. Refer to Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front .
  6. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Passenger Presence System Programming and Setup .
1 Restraint, Front Seat Head
Tip:  Depress the button on the outboard head restraint guide and pull up to raise and remove the head restraint.
2 Guide, Front Seat Head Restraint (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Reach up and into the top of the seat back, while pressing the tabs on the bottom of the head restraint guide, pull the guide from the seat back frame.
3 Pad, Seat Back Cushion Cover
Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front .
Tip:  Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad as an assembly.
4 Pad, Seat Cushion Cover
Refer to Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front .
Tip: 
  1. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad as an assembly.
  2. The inflatable restraint passenger presence system is part of the pad on the passenger seat cushion, and must be replaced as an assembly.
  3. The sensor, module and seat cushion pad must be replaced as a unit.
