Alarm Module: Service and Repair




Theft Deterrent Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).
3. Remove the theft deterrent module wiring harness from the steering column harness.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.




5. Pull the theft deterrent module (2) away from the lock cylinder housing (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Push the theft deterrent module (2), onto the lock cylinder housing (1).
2. Install the theft deterrent wiring harness to the steering column harness.
3. Connect the electrical connector.
4. Replace the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
6. Program the new theft control module. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) for programming and setup information.
