Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement

NOTE: Brake system does not use a brake switch, stoplight switch or brakelight switch. System uses a Brake Pedal Position Sensor to control these functions.

Callout Component Name
Preliminary Procedure: 
Remove the left instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Acadia) or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Enclave) or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (OUTLOOK) or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Traverse) .
1 Brake Pedal Position Sensor Bolt
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Brake Pedal Position Sensor

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
  2. After the installation is complete, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
