Removal Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Fig 1: View of ECT Sensor Electrical Connector

  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Drain the cooling system below the level of the ECT sensor. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.

  8. Remove the ECT sensor.
