Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors (1).

  3. Align the steering wheel module fasteners to the steering column fastener holes.
  4. WARNING:

    After installation of the steering wheel airbag module to the steering wheel, slightly pull the module outward. If there is no give on the airbag module then it is secured correctly. If the airbag module is not fully attached personal injury could result.

  5. Push the steering wheel module (1) firmly into the steering column in order the engage the fasteners.
  6. Install the steering column upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  8. After replacing the module, fully deploy the old module before disposal.
