Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S43 ultrasonic intrusion sensor disable switch.
  2. Test for less than 10Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the S43 ultrasonic intrusion sensor disable switch. Disconnect the harness connector at the B67 ultrasonic intrusion sensor.
  4. Test for less than 10Ω between the ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  6. Test for less than 1V between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
  7. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the S43 ultrasonic intrusion sensor disable switch.
  8. Content theft disable switch closed, test for less than 10Ω between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the S43 ultrasonic intrusion sensor disable switch.
  9. Ignition ON, verify the content theft disable indicator is not illuminated.
    • If the indicator is illuminated, test the control circuit terminal 2 for a short to voltage.
  10. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 2 and B+. Verify the content theft disable indicator is illuminated.
    • If the indicator is not illuminated, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the S43 ultrasonic intrusion sensor disable switch.
  11. Disconnect the X6 harness connector at the K9 BCM.
  12. Test for less than 1V between the serial data circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to voltage.
  13. Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the serial data circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If not the specified value, test the serial data circuit for a short to ground.
  14. Test for less than 2Ω between the serial data circuit terminal 16 at the K9 BCM harness connector X6 and the serial data circuit terminal 4 at the B67 ultrasonic intrusion sensor harness connector.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for an open/high resistance.
  15. If all circuits test normal, replace the B67 ultrasonic intrusion sensor.
