Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S70L steering wheel controls switch-left.
- Ignition ON, test for 11.0 V between the voltage reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the voltage reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Test for 11.0 V between the voltage reference circuit terminal 1 and the signal circuit terminal 3.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K9 BCM.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 9 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the S70L steering wheel controls switch-left.
