Installation Procedure

  1. If reusing the spark plugs, Refer to Spark Plug Inspection .
  2. If using NEW spark plugs do not attempt to check gap or damage can occur, plugs come pre gapped.
    3. NOTE:

    If the old spark plugs are being reused, ensure they are installed in the corresponding cylinders.

  3. Hand start the spark plugs.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Tighten the spark plugs. Tighten the NEW engine spark plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) and the engine spark plug on subsequent installations to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  5. Install the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Right Side)Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Left Side) .
