Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

NOTE:

Once a load is applied by the ball joint tool loading bolt, a quick tap on the nut end of the tool will reduce the separating force required.

Use the CH-49405 ball joint tool (2) to separate the front lower control rear link (1) from the steering knuckle (3).

Remove the front lower control rear link bolt (1).
Remove the front lower control rear link (3) from the drivetrain and front suspension frame (2).
