Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Fuel Tank

  1. Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack.
  2. Install Fuel Tank (1)

  3. Install Fuel Tank Straps (3) (Qty: 2)
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install Fuel Tank Strap Bolts (2) (Qty: 2) and tighten to 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
  5. Install Fuel Tank Strap Bolts (1) (Qty: 3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  6. Connect Evaporative Emission Pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  7. Connect Fuel Feed Pipe (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  8. Connect Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose (4). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  9. Connect Evaporative Emission Canister Hose (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  10. Install Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2)
  11. Install Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) and tighten to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in)

  12. Connect Electrical Connector (1)
  13. Install Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe - Mid Line Left and Mid Line Right. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MJK and KNR, LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MJK and KNR, LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Right)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Right)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MGL, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MGL, With KNR, Mid Line Right)
  14. Install the left front rear suspension bracket. Refer to Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Front)
  15. Install Two-Piece Propeller Shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe MM6, M13, MJK)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible MM6, M13, MJK)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe M5T, M5U, MGL)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible M5T, M5U, MGL)
  16. Refill the fuel tank.
  17. Inspect for fuel leaks.
