Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Fuel Tank, Straps And Fasteners

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Use a suitable jack and install the fuel tank.
  2. Install Fuel Tank (3)
  3. Install Fuel Tank Straps (2) (Qty: 2)
  4. Install and tighten Fuel Tank Strap Fasteners (1) (Qty: 4) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  6. Connect Evaporative Emission Line (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  7. Connect Fuel Feed Line (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  8. Connect Electrical Connector (1)

  10. Connect Evaporative Emission Line (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  11. Install Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2)
  12. Install and tighten Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1) to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in)

  14. Connect Electrical Connectors (2) (Qty: 2)
  15. Connect Evaporative Emission Lines (1) (Qty: 2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  16. Raise the rear frame. Refer to Rear Frame Replacement
  17. Install Parking Brake Rear Cable - Right Side. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side
  18. Install Parking Brake Rear Cable - Left Side. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side
  19. Install and tighten Fuel Tank Heat Shield to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in)
  20. Install Propeller Shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement
  21. Install Exhaust System. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (V8)
  22. Install the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  23. Refill the fuel tank.
  24. Inspect for fuel leaks.
