Circuit/System Testing
Microphone
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone and disconnect the X2 harness connector at the A11 Radio, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 1
- Signal circuit terminal 2
- 5 V circuit terminal 4
- If 1 V or greater
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 1
- Signal circuit terminal 2
- 5 V circuit terminal 4
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 1 and A11 Radio terminal 14 X2
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 2 and A11 Radio terminal 16 X2
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 4 and A11 Radio terminal 15 X2
- If 5 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
- Replace the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone. Connect all harness connectors.
- Place a call using the cellular device paired to the system.
- Verify the conversation partner can hear you clearly.
- If the conversation partner cannot hear you clearly
Replace the A11 Radio.
- Go to next step: If the conversation partner can hear you clearly
- If the conversation partner cannot hear you clearly
- All OK.
