Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior

    • If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the closed position.
    • If 3 Ω or greater 

      Replace the component: S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior

    • If less than 3 Ω 
  5. All OK.
