Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

    Remove the 2 rear engine lift bracket bolts (2).

  3. Hang the rear engine lift bracket (1) aside to gain access to remove the generator.
  4. If equipped, remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  5. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

    Disconnect the generator wiring harness plug (3).

  7. Remove the generator positive cable nut (1) along with the generator positive cable (2).

    Remove the 2 lower generator bolts (3).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Remove the upper generator bolt (1).
  11. Remove the generator (2).
