Shift Lock Manual Release

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The transmission has an electric shift lock. The key must be in the ON/RUN position and the brake pedal pressed, so the transmission selector lever can be moved from the P (Park) or the N (Neutral) position. If the battery has lost power, the selector cannot be moved unless the shift lock manual release is engaged manually.

  1. Access the shift lock manual release.
  2. Engage the park brake.
  3. Use a long, thin tool (1), insert the tool into the shift lock manual release hole and gently push the shift lock manual release.
    • The selector lever can be moved now.
    • After removing the tool (1), the selector lever will lock when shifted in the positions P (Park) or N (Neutral).
