Installation Procedure

  1. GM4846978

    Lubricate the vacuum pump seal (1) with clean engine oil before installing the vacuum pump. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. GM4790979

    Before continuing, make sure that the vacuum pump locating pins (1) are installed in the vacuum pump.

  3. Install the vacuum pump gasket (2) over the vacuum pump locating pins (1).
  4. GM4846987

    Install the vacuum pump (1).

    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the vacuum pump bolts (2, 3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Radiator Inlet Hose @ Water Outlet - Install - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
  7. GM4846963

    Position and connect the engine wiring harness (2).

  8. Install the engine wiring harness clips (1) to the vacuum pump.
  9. Power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose @ Vacuum Pump - Connect - Power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose Replacement (LTG)
  10. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose - Install - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement 
  11. Intake Manifold Cover - Install - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
