Installation Procedure
If the battery positive cable will not be replaced, check the grommet (1) for damage. If the grommet is damaged, replace the grommet, see next steps.
- Release the retainer (2) and open the clip (3). Then remove.
- Liberally lubricate the grommet and the cable to slide grommet over the over the positive cable terminal.
- Liberally lubricate the NEW grommet and the cable to slide grommet over the over the positive cable terminal.
- Install the clip to the positive cable and lock the retainer.
- Remove the silicon spray or soap water from the positive cable.
Pull the complete battery positive cable through the body until the grommet locks into the original position.
Install 3 wire tie retainers (1, 2) on the rear left body in front of the rear axle.
Battery Positive Cable - Install
- Install the 6 battery positive cable retainer nuts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
- NOTE:
For a better access, install the wire tie through the wheelhouse.
Install a new zip tie to the plastic nut and secure the battery positive battery cable.
- Lower the vehicle.
Check the distance (a) 255 mm (10 in) of the battery positive cable.
Check the 6 retainers (1) of the battery positive cable (2) for proper seat.
- Install the battery positive cable bolt (3) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Install the cover (3).
- Lock the 3 retainers (4, 5).
- Install the cover (2).
- Lock the 10 retainers (1).

- Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim - Install
Install the battery positive cable bolt (1) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Install the battery positive distribution cover (1).
- Lock the 2 retainers (2).
- Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Connect
