Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the fuel injector bores and clean the fuel injectors, if the fuel injectors will be re-installed. Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection

    NOTE:

    Hand place the fuel injection fuel rail into the position on the cylinder head.

    Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (1) - Move into position

  3. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolt (2) - Install and hand tighten [3x].
  4. Tighten the 2 outer fuel injection fuel rail bolts (2) by alternating in steps of 1/2 turn, until the fuel injection fuel rail (1) is fully seated.
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolt (2) - Tighten [3x] 36 N.m (27 lb ft)
  6. Connect the connectors to the knock sensors, as shown by the arrows.
  7. Install the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement 
  8. Install the fuel injection fuel rail insulator. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Insulator Replacement 
  9. Install the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement 
  10. Intake Manifold - Install - Intake Manifold Replacement
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  12. Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
