Installation Procedure

    NOTE:
    • The camshaft MUST be at the base circle position before the fuel pump is installed.
    • At the base circle position, the EN-52443  High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool (2) will sit flush with the cylinder head.

    Install the EN-52443  High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool (2) and turn the crankshaft until the camshaft lobe is at the base circle position.

  2. Remove the EN-52443  High Pressure Fuel Pump Alignment Tool (2).
  3. Lubricate the valve lifter follower (3) with clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  4. Valve Lifter Follower (3) - Install
  5. Fuel Pump Housing Seal (4) - Install NEW
  6. Fuel Pump (5) - Install
  7. CAUTION:

    Alternately hand-tighten the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully seated. Trying to draw down the pump without even side-to-side tightening may result in pump plunger damage.

  8. Fuel Pump Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  9. Connect the electrical connector.

    Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) - Connect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe (2) - Install NEW

  12. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Nut (1) @ Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  13. Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Bracket Bolt (4) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  14. Retainer (3) - Engage

    Radiator Surge Tank Air Separator Hose Bracket (2) - Install

  16. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    WARNING:

    The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise canceling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.

    Fuel Pump Insulator (1) - Install

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install

  19. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  20. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  21. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (5) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  22. Turbocharger Outlet Duct Front Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Oil Filler Cap (1) - Remove

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Install

  26. Oil Filler Cap - Install
  27. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  28. Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
