Dr29 (2.2L Turbo) - Code 45, OVERBOOST Cut-Off

  1. Disconnect vacuum line connector from wastegate diaphragm and connect a vacuum gauge to it. Disconnect vacuum line connector from the side of the wastegate solenoid and connect an auxiliary vacuum supply to it. Apply 15 in. Hg vacuum. Release vacuum.

  2. Vacuum test gauge should read within 2 inches of the applied vacuum and then immediately drop to zero when released. If vacuum gauge does not read within one inch or drops slowly toward zero, repair vacuum line for a restriction or break.
  3. If gauge reads correctly, disconnect the vacuum line connector from the wastegate solenoid and connect a vacuum gauge to it. Start the engine. Vacuum gauge should read manifold vacuum. If vacuum is okay, check wastegate calibration. If vacuum is zero, repair vacuum line to manifold nipple for a restriction or break.
