Warm DRIVEABILITY Test 13 - Heated Air Intake System Check
- Remove outside air duct from the air cleaner. Start the engine. The heated air door should be laying flat in snorkel. If heated air door is not in proper position, disconnect vacuum supply hose from temperature sensor. Connect a vacuum pump to the sensor and apply 10 in. Hg.
- Vacuum should bleed down. If vacuum bleeds down, check for sticking heated air door or a faulty vacuum delay valve (if equipped). If vacuum does not bleed down, replace temperature sensor. If heated air door is in proper position in step 1), on 2-Bbl. models, proceed to WARM DRIVEABILITY TEST 14 .
- On 4-Bbl. models, watch vapor containment door. Vapor containment door should be open. If vapor containment door is not open, check for sticking door or faulty vacuum delay valve. If door is open, proceed to WARM DRIVEABILITY TEST 14 .
