Coolant Temperature Sensor

The coolant temperature sensor is located in the thermostat housing. Input from this sensor allows SMEC to richen air/fuel mixtures until normal operating temperature is reached. The sensor is a variable resistor with a range of -40°F (-40°C) to 265°F (129°C). This sensor is also used to turn on radiator fan.
