Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC)
SBEC (3.0L) contain circuits necessary to drive ignition coil, fuel injectors and alternator field. It contain only a 60-pin connector only for SBEC. The SBEC is a digital computers containing microprocessors. They receive input signals from various switches and sensors.
The SBEC then compute the fuel injector pulse width, spark advance, ignition coil dwell, idle speed, purge, cooling fan start and alternator charge rate. The SBEC contain voltage converters which converts battery voltage to 9 volts output. The SBEC is located on the right inner fender panel.
