Engine Controller

  1. Disconnect 60-pin connector from engine controller, located next to battery. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter negative lead to ground. Connect voltmeter positive lead to cavity No. 53 of 60-pin connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. With cruise control switch in OFF position, voltmeter should read zero volt. With cruise control switch in ON position, voltmeter should read battery voltage. If not as specified, repair main harness as necessary.
  3. Connect voltmeter positive lead to cavity No. 60 of 60-pin connector. See Fig 1 . With cruise control switch in OFF position, voltmeter should read battery voltage. With cruise control switch in ON position, voltmeter should read zero volt. If not as specified, repair main harness as necessary.
  4. Connect voltmeter positive lead to cavity No. 9 of 60-pin connector. See Fig 1 . With cruise control switch in OFF position, voltmeter should read zero volt. With cruise control switch in ON position, voltmeter should read battery voltage.

  5. Press SET button, voltmeter reading should change battery voltage to zero volt for as long as switch is held. If not, check cruise control switch. If switch is okay, check or repair main harness.
  6. Connect voltmeter positive lead to cavity No. 7 of 60-pin connector. Voltmeter should read zero volt with cruise control switch in either OFF or ON positions. With switch in either RESUME or SET position, voltmeter should read battery voltage. If not, check cruise control switch. If switch is okay, check or repair main harness.
  7. Connect voltmeter positive lead to cavity No.8. Voltmeter should read zero volt with cruise control switch in OFF position. With switch in ON position, voltmeter should read battery voltage. Voltmeter should continue to read battery voltage when either SET or RESUME switch is pressed. If not, check cruise control switch. If okay, check or repair main harness.
  8. Using an ohmmeter, connect one lead to ground and the other lead to cavity No. 29 of 60-pin connector. With brake pedal released, ohmmeter should read continuity. With brake pedal depressed, ohmmeter should show open circuit.
