Test 53A - Faulty Tail Lamp Out Message
NOTE:

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect light outage module 5-pin connector. See Figure . Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Start engine. If Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, replace light outage module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If EVIC displays TAIL LAMP OUT, turn ignition off. Disconnect both Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connectors, and clean or repair connectors as necessary.
- Using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Black wire) of BCM Red connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
