Test 55A - Left Taillight Out

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Inspect for faulty left taillight bulb. Replace bulb as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If bulb is okay, inspect bulb socket. Repair bulb socket as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  2. If bulb socket is okay, turn headlights on. Turn ignition on. Using DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage of Black/Pink wire terminal in bulb socket. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Black wire between ground and bulb socket. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  3. If DRB-II displays less than 10 volts, disconnect light outage module 14-pin connector. See Figure . Connect jumper wire between terminal No. 11 (Black/Pink wire) and terminal No. 12 (Black/Yellow wire) of light outage module 14-pin connector.
  4. Check taillights. If left taillights are on, replace light outage module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If left taillights are off, repair open Black/Pink wire between bulb socket and light outage module connector. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
