Test 40G - Dimming Interior Displays
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR
IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Using DRB, measure resistance at BCM Black connector terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect left pod switch assembly connector. See Figure . Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace dimmer switch, located in left pod switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect radio connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace radio. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) module connector (if equipped). Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace ATC unit. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow/Black wire between BCM Black connector and dimmer switch connector for short to ground.
