Test 46B - Repairing Left Door Illuminated Entry Switch

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Black connector terminal No. 7 (White wire). If voltage is less than 4 volts, go to TEST 46D. If voltage is more than 4 volts, go to next step.
  2. With probe connected, lift and hold left door handle. If voltage is less than 4 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is more than 4 volts, go to next step.
  3. Remove left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Close doors and wait one minute. Connect jumper wire between illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and terminal No. 2 (White wire). If courtesy lamps illuminate, replace left door illuminated entry switch. If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, go to next step.
  4. Connect jumper wire between illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 2 (White wire) and ground. If courtesy lamps illuminate, repair open in Black wire between illuminated entry switch connector and ground. If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, repair open in White wire.
