Test 86A: Identifying CCD Radio Problems
NOTE:
Perform TEST 1A: IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS before proceeding.
- With the DRBIII, select AUDIO. If the DRBIII shows NO RESPONSE, perform TEST 87A .
- With the DRBIII, read radio diagnostic trouble codes. If there are any trouble code(s) is/are present, perform TEST 86B .
Diagnostics for the CCD radio are separated into 2 groups: radio failures and system failures. Verify the failure or the customer's complaint and make sure the vehicle is experiencing the problem at this time. Proceed as directed below.
Radio Features: If any of the following radio features exist, replace the radio.
- AM/FM Switch Inoperative
- Eject Switch Inoperative
- FF/FR Switch Inoperative
- Pause/Play Switch Inoperative
- Seek Switch Inoperative
- Time Switch Inoperative
- 1-5 Presets Inoperative
- Balance Joystick Inoperative
- Equalizer Inoperative
- On/Off Switch Inoperative
- Scan Switch Inoperative
- Set Switch Inoperative
- Tune Switch Inoperative
System Failure: Choose the applicable items from the list below and perform the indicated test.
