Test 16A - No Response From Powertrain Control Module
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
Perform TEST 1A before proceeding with this test.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. PCM is located between data link connector and battery on fenderwell. Disconnect Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) module. Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. VTSS module is located behind glove box. Go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between PCM connector terminal No. 26 and VTSS module connector terminal No. 2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Check resistance of White/Black wire between PCM connector terminal No. 46 and VTSS module connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM.
