Idle Air Control Motor Circuits

NOTE: For circuit and connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.5L V6 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Inspect PCM connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2 . If PCM connector terminals are okay, go to next step.
    NOTE: For next step, see IAC DRIVER IDENTIFICATION table for IAC motor wire color identification.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of IAC motor driver No. 3 wire between IAC motor connector and PCM connector terminal No. 57. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in IAC motor driver No. 3 wire. Perform TEST VER-2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-2.
