Test 144C - Repairing Trunk Key Cylinder Switch Sense Circuit

CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: Perform TEST 144A  before proceeding with this test.
  1. Disconnect trunk key cylinder switch connector. Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. Connect jumper wire across switch connector terminals. Using scan tool, read trunk key cylinder switch status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, replace trunk key cylinder switch. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Connect jumper wire between trunk key cylinder switch connector Violet/Yellow wire and ground. If scan tool displays CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Locate Body Control Module (BCM) behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 24 (Violet/Yellow wire) and ground. If scan tool displays CLOSED, repair open Violet/Yellow wire. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, replace BCM.
