A/C Compressor: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post. Loosen and remove the drive belts. Disconnect the compressor clutch wire lead.
  2. Recover the refrigerant from the system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the refrigerant lines from the compressor. If system is going to be left open, plug or cap the open lines. Remove compressor attaching bolts. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . Remove the compressor.
