A/C Compressor: Removal

Disconnect the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post. Loosen and remove the drive belts. Disconnect the compressor clutch wire lead.
Recover the refrigerant from the system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the refrigerant lines from the compressor. If system is going to be left open, plug or cap the open lines. Remove compressor attaching bolts. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . Remove the compressor.
