Transponder Key

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, and 2002 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) uses a transponder that is integral to each of 2 ignition keys that are supplied with the vehicle when it is shipped from the factory. The transponder chip is insulated within a nylon mount inserted in the head of the key, and invisible beneath a molded rubber cap. See Figure .
