Wipers Run At One Speed Only
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, and 2002 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Wiper motor runs in low speed position, but not in high speed position or wiper motor runs in high speed position but not in low speed position.
- If wiper motor will not run on low speed, go to next step. If wiper motor will not run on high speed, go to step 3 .
- Disconnect wiper motor connector. Using a jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor terminal No. 2 (component side). See Figure . Connect a second jumper wire between ground and wiper motor terminal No. 5 (component side). If motor runs, go to step 4 . If motor does not run, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect wiper motor connector. Using a jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor terminal No. 1 (component side). See Figure . Connect a second jumper wire between ground and wiper motor terminal No. 5 (component side). If motor runs, go to step 5 . If motor does not run, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove HIGH/LOW wiper relay from power distribution center. See Figure . Check continuity in Brown/White wire between HIGH/LOW wiper relay connector terminal "E" and wiper motor connector terminal No. 2. See Figure . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Brown/White wire.
- Check continuity in Red/Yellow wire between HIGH/LOW wiper relay connector terminal "D" and wiper motor connector terminal No. 1. If continuity exists, check for faulty HIGH/LOW wiper relay. See WIPER RELAYS under COMPONENT TESTS. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
