PCM monitors transaxle operation along with input and output information. If PCM self-diagnostic system senses a transaxle or electrical circuit failure, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be stored in PCM memory. If malfunction goes away after DTC is stored in PCM memory, PCM will erase DTC after ignition has been cycled at least 40 times. DTCs are classified as either hard, one trip failure or intermittent codes.
