Ignition Switch: Removal
- Ignition switch attaches onto end of lock cylinder housing on steering column. See Figure . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Ensure negative battery cable is disconnected from stud on shock tower and isolated from all other components.
- Remove multifunction switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH .
- Remove Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) if equipped. See appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Disconnect electrical connector from ignition switch. Remove ignition switch retaining screws. Remove ignition switch.
