Speed Control Cannot Be Set

  1. Check speed control switches. See SPEED CONTROL SWITCHES  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace speed control switches as necessary. If speed control switches are okay, check clockspring. See CLOCKSPRING  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace clockspring as necessary. If clockspring is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect clockspring connector located under steering column. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Red wire at clockspring harness connector. Voltage should be 5 volts. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring and connectors between clockspring and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair wiring and connectors as necessary. If voltage is as specified, repair circuit between clockspring connector Blue wire and ground.
