Test NTC-17: Acceleration Shock

  1. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If no DTCs are present, go to next step. If any DTCs are present, perform appropriate diagnostic test. See DTC & TEST IDENTIFICATION  table under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS.
  2. Check for defective ignition coil, spark plugs and spark plug cables. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - CARS article. Check wiring harness between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Electronic Automatic Transmission Electronic Control Module (EATX-ECM). PCM is located at left front corner of engine compartment, in front of EATX-ECM, near relay box. Repair wiring as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
