Illuminated Entry Inoperative

  1. Connect scan tool to DLC. DLC is located above hood release handle on driver's kick panel. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE on scan tool. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECT; IGNITION VOLTAGE TOO LOW; NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BAT PWR DISCON'D); BATTERY POWER TO MODULE  under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate bus failure procedure under COMMUNICATIONS . If neither message is displayed, go to next step.
    NOTE: Illuminated entry will only operate when activated by Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
  2. Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding (if applicable). Using scan tool, actuate courtesy light. If dome light illuminates, go to next step. If dome light does not illuminate, go to COURTESY LIGHT INOPERATIVE WITH ANY DOOR (SEBRING CONVERTIBLE)  or COURTESY LIGHT INOPERATIVE WITH ANY DOOR (EXCEPT SEBRING CONVERTIBLE)  .
  3. If RKE is not operating properly, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) DOES NOT OPERATE  under POWER LOCKS/RKE SYSTEM. If RKE is operating properly, go to next step.
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
