Speed Control Servo

  1. Turn ignition on, but do not start engine. Turn speed control switch ON position. Disconnect speed control servo 4-pin connector. Connect a jumper wire between speed control servo harness connector terminal No. 3 and speed control servo terminal No. 3. Using jumper wires, connect speed control servo terminals No. 2 and 4 to ground.
  2. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, apply 10-15 in. Hg of vacuum to speed control servo vacuum nipple. Throttle cable should not retract. If throttle cable retracts, replace speed control servo. If throttle cable does not retract, connect speed control servo terminal No. 1 to ground. Throttle cable should now retract and hold position for at least one minute.
  3. If throttle cable does not remain retracted, replace speed control servo. If throttle cable remains retracted, remove jumper wire from speed control servo terminal No. 3. Throttle cable should return to released position. If throttle cable does not return to released position, replace speed control servo. If servo functions as described, no problem is indicated at this time.
