SKIM Messages Not Received

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). If scan tool communicates with SKIM, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with SKIM, diagnose communication problem. See BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  .
  2. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition off and on and wait about one minute. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC does not reset, no problem is indicated at this time. Test is complete. If DTC resets, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
