Decklid Switch Disarm Failure
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition off and wait 15 seconds then turn ignition on. Operate decklid cylinder lock switch with ignition key several times while observing scan tool. If scan tool does not display DECKLID SWITCH DISARM FAILURE, no problem is indicated at this time. Perform wiggle test of related connectors and harnesses. Repair wiring as necessary and retest system. If scan tool displays DECKLID SWITCH DISARM FAILURE, go to next step.
- Open trunk and disconnect decklid cylinder lock switch connector. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe Black wire at decklid cylinder lock switch harness connector. If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open or high resistance in Black wire between decklid cylinder lock switch and ground.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and Violet/Yellow wire at decklid cylinder lock switch harness connector. Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS and read DECKLIDKEY CYL SE status. If scan tool displays DECKLID KEY CYL SW: CLOSED, replace decklid cylinder lock switch. If scan tool does not display DECKLID KEY CYL SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) C4 26-pin connector. BCM is connected to junction block under left side of instrument panel. Measure resistance of Violet/Yellow wire between decklid cylinder lock switch harness connector and terminal No. 21 at BCM C4 harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Violet/Yellow wire.
