Data Link Connector

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, and 2003 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Data Link Connector (DLC) is a 16-pin connector located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) contains a self-diagnostic system which stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if an electronic control system failure exists. DTC may be retrieved from PCM for system diagnosis by using DLC and a scan tool. The DLC also provides a means to communicate with various vehicle control modules, check system operating conditions and to operate various system components.
